Cancellations & refunds
Via Via Shuttle Service Inc. has a no cancellation policy. Bookings that have been made can be adjusted and rescheduled up to 7 days before the scheduled departure time. Please get in touch with us at least 7 days before the scheduled departure time so we can make changes to your booking accordingly.
When booking seats for departing and returning shuttles with Via Via Shuttle Service Inc., you reserve seats for specific dates and times. Our shuttles operate regardless of weather conditions (rain, sunshine, snow, cold, wildfire smoke, or warm temperatures), and therefore, we do not cancel our shuttles or issue refunds due to ‘bad weather.’ We are not responsible for any disappointments arising from weather conditions. Please refer to our Frequently Asked Questions page to learn how to prepare for Rocky Mountain weather conditions at both Moraine Lake and Lake Louise.
In the event of a cancellation initiated by Via Via Moraine Lake Shuttle, operated by Via Via Shuttle Service Inc., a full refund or alternative date selection will be offered. Cancellations made by us will be promptly communicated to affected passengers prior to the scheduled departure.
Should a trip be canceled during its course, affected passengers will be notified promptly. Such cancellations may result from vehicle malfunctions or accidents. However, cancellations due to events such as traffic delays or passenger-related issues do not incur cancellation fees. In such instances, we entrust our employees to prioritize safety and make informed decisions regarding journey continuation or pause until conditions permit safe travel.
Missed shuttle departures to, and returns from Moraine Lake
The departure time indicated on your booking confirmation and our website is the scheduled time for the shuttle to leave from your designated pick-up location. This applies to both departing shuttles from Canmore & Banff and returning shuttles from Moraine Lake or continued shuttles from Lake Louise. You are required to be ready to board the shuttle at least 5 minutes before the departure time stated on your booking. If you fail to be ready before this time, the shuttle will depart without you, and you will be marked as a no-show, with no refund or credit issued. The shuttle is not obligated to wait if any member of your party is not prepared to board. It is your responsibility to arrive on time, and contacting us via webform, email, or phone will not alter this situation, nor will it prompt the shuttle to wait for you. The shuttle does not wait under any circumstances
The times provided on your booking confirmation and our website are intended for customer reference only. Our shuttle service operates on an internal schedule, separate from customer-facing schedules. We recommend arriving at least 5 minutes before your scheduled departure time to ensure timely boarding. If you arrive at least 5 minutes before the scheduled departure time and experience a delay due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, it will not be considered a cancellation on our part. However, if you arrive after the scheduled departure time, please allow for a minimum of 15-20 minutes for our shuttle to arrive, particularly in worst-case scenarios. If our shuttle does not arrive within 20 minutes of your scheduled departure time and you were late, it indicates that the shuttle departed without you. We take our shuttle schedules very seriously, and respect our customer’s schedule. Sunrise waits for no one, and the visiting time is subject to time for most of our customers.
It is your responsibility to return in time for the scheduled shuttle after your visit to Moraine Lake or Lake Louise. The return times listed on your booking confirmation and our website indicate when the shuttle is scheduled to depart from Moraine Lake & Lake Louise. Seats reserved on return shuttles are specifically allocated, and it is not possible to switch to a different shuttle. Our services are subject to availability, and failure to adhere to this policy may result in being unable to return to your departure location. Our shuttles adhere strictly to departure and return times; they do not wait. If you miss the shuttle at Moraine Lake or Lake Louise, it is your responsibility to arrange alternative transportation back to your pick-up location at your own expense. Please note that there is limited or no cell service at Moraine Lake, and taxis are prohibited from driving up the Moraine Lake road. Our drivers maintain passenger lists for each departing and returning shuttle, preventing attempts to board a later shuttle after missing your scheduled one. Via Via Moraine Lake Shuttle, operated by Via Via Shuttle Service Inc., bears no responsibility for missed departures or delayed returns. By booking a seat on our shuttles, customers acknowledge their responsibility to adhere to the specified times; failure to do so may result in assuming financial and logistical challenges associated with securing transportation back to their pick-up locations
Travel Policies
Children under the age of 6 are required by law in Alberta to be seated in a child safety seat.
For children aged 2-6 years, a front-facing child safety seat is mandatory. It is the responsibility of our customers to provide a child safety seat for their children. Our drivers are authorized to decline boarding if a child safety seat is required but not provided. In such instances, passengers unable to board due to this requirement will be considered “missed,” and no refund will be issued.
Regrettably, we are unable to accommodate children under 2 years old, as they necessitate a rear-facing child safety seat that our vehicles cannot accommodate.
Under no circumstances are passengers permitted to hold children of any age on their lap or person.
Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

In such instances, Via Via Shuttle Service Inc. shall not be held liable for any delay or failure in the performance of its obligations, nor for any loss or damages suffered by the other/affected party resulting from such delay or failure, provided that written notice of the inability to perform is given by Via Via Shuttle Service Inc. and Via Via Moraine Lake Shuttle within 48 hours of the commencement of the Force Majeure event.

Via Via Shuttle Service Inc. and Via Via Moraine Lake Shuttle, its employees, and agents shall not be responsible for any representation, misrepresentation, or information given or omitted regarding the suitability of any shuttle service, health issues, insurance issues, or any other matter.
Similarly, Via Via Shuttle Service Inc. and Via Via Moraine Lake Shuttle, its employees, and agents shall not be liable for any loss or damage, including injury, death, loss of personal effects or luggage, loss of revenue or profit, costs, expenses, delays, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment, or emotional upset, regardless of the cause, whether or not due to any act, omission, or negligence of Via Via Shuttle Service Inc. and Via Via Moraine Lake Shuttle, its employees or agents, or other guests.
In the event that the Liability Release contained above is found unenforceable for any reason, all liability of Via Via Shuttle Service Inc. and Via Via Moraine Lake Shuttle shall be limited to the lesser of the total price paid for the service provided.
