Moraine Lake & Lake Louise Tours from Banff & Canmore

An unforgettable sunrise experience — thank you, Tess! We booked the Via Via Moraine Lake Shuttle for Sunday, July 12th, and it exceeded every expectation. We left Dead Man's Flats around 2am to make it to Lake Louise by 4am, and the early wake-up was more than worth it. The hot cocoa and warm blankets provided on the drive were an absolute lifesaver at that hour — such a thoughtful touch that made the early start so much more comfortable. Watching the sunrise over Moraine Lake was surreal — the stillness, the crisp mountain air, the quiet before the crowds arrived. It's the kind of moment that stays with you. Our guide Tess made the whole trip. Her knowledge of the area, genuine enthusiasm, and the extra "secret spot" she took us to added a layer to the experience we never could have found on our own. She was warm, informative, and clearly loves what she does — it showed in every part of the tour. If you're debating whether the early start is worth it, it absolutely is. And if you're lucky enough to have Tess as your guide, you're in for something special. Highly recommend this shuttle to anyone wanting to experience Moraine Lake and Lake Louise at their most magical.

We booked two trips with Via Via. One day to explore Lake Louise and one day to explore Moraine Lake. For Moraine Lake, our driver was Scotty, and once again he was more than a driver. He was a tour guide. Scotty provided in-depth information along the way and pointed out areas of interest. He made a point to engage all of the folks on the bus so he knew what they wanted to get out of their day. He provided wonderful tips on how to get the most out of your time at Moraine Lake, which trails to take and how much time each different trail would take so you could best plan your time I highly recommend the Via Via team. via Via and their tram made sure that our days at Lake Louise and Moraine Lake were days we won’t forget. We had the BEST day! Even though it was an early start for sunrise at Moraine Lake, our 8yr old was a trooper and LOVED it! Highly recommend extending time at Lake Louise. We had time to hike to Mirror Lake, Lake Agnes Tea House, Little Beehive, the Lake Louise loop and have lunch on the patio at the Fairmont. Lake Louise is magical and this tour with extended stay was perfect for us. I ended up booking this travel company because I was confused as to how to get a parks pass and parking and whatnot - Via Via made our trip so much easier. Highly recommend - Simmi and Martin were great!

Josh, our guide, was amazing! He was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and professional throughout the entire trip. He took us to the perfect photo spots and even took beautiful pictures for us. He made the experience fun, informative, and stress-free. I would highly recommend this tour, especially if you get Josh as your guide!

My wife and I went on the Moraine Lake and Lake Louise morning tour with VIAVIA. Kale was a great driver and even better guide. Their pick up schedule was super punctual and communication from reservation to pick up was top notch. It was well worth the money to not have to worry about parking at the lakes and going super early to even get into the lakes. Kale was great about giving us and the entire group suggestions on what to do at each lake for the time allotted. Van fleet was new and very clean. Highly recommend VIAVIA and especially Kale for your lake excursions while in Banff area.

I I booked the Lake Moraine Sunrise Tour, and it was so good! Our driver, Jake, was very friendly and thoughtful. They provided blankets, hot drinks, and snacks for everyone, which kept us warm while we waited for sunrise. It made the whole experience much more comfortable. Highly recommend! And the lake moraine is so beautiful, I went twice during my 6 days trips here!

Amazing experience! We did the Sunrise Moraine Lake/Lake Louise tour. All the details were setup and it was a wonderful experience. From blankets and hot drinks, to knowledgeable guides who checked in on us throughout the experience to be sure we did not need anything, to pointing out the best spots to be for our goals! Kieran took us out to Moraine Lake and Kale brought us back. Both were absolutely amazing bringing great vibes for such an early pickup. They were the perfect guides! The tour itself is 100% worth it. Seeing the lake at sunrise is breathtaking. Even on a foggy day like we had I would do it all over again. It gives you the best chance to see the beauty of the lake before the crowds arrive. The coffee and blankets Via Via provided were such a nice added touch. And for those who like to hike having the option for a later departure time was perfect! After sunrise we were able to take a hike out to Constellation Lakes. And be on the trails before they got too crowded. Would recommend Via Via 10/10!

The sunrise tour with Via Via at Moraine lake was my favorite experience in Banfff! I love that It was a small van with only 12 people, the ride was so comfortable and smooth. The pick up was on time and the driver was so friendly. I thought it was a nice touch that they provide blankets and warm drinks as well. Extremely happy with the experience and the price was great!

Kai was a great tour guide/driver. Very accommodating to our group that was mainly women over 70. He was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The company itself was easy to book and communicate with and answered all our questions and allowed a change in the pickup location last minute with no issues. Would recommend this company/ book again.

If you are going to use a transit service, Via Via is the only one you should ever use! This ride helped me and my son experience one of the most magical days of our lives. The Moraine Lake Sunrise Experience created memories beyond what words can express. We ended up exploring Sentinel Pass while the snow was still thick. It is a difficult trek, but highly recommended if you are physically fit enough to take on the challenge. The view are exquisite at the top, and at every stop you take to catch your breath. The Via Via team was so invaluable to helping create this magical experience. From the phone operator to the van driver, every single person I interacted with were so enjoyable, kind, compassionate, and helpful.

We used Via Via Shuttle for two trips Moraine Lake Sunrise and Lake Louise all day from Canmore. Our driver Carrie is amazing and she has lots of knowledge about area . She recommended us few hikes and they were amazing . She reached both days on time to pick us up. She is very friendly. I highly recommend this company to everyone.

I had this tour recommended to me and can now wholeheartedly pass on that recommendation. We were picked up bright and early to catch the sunrise at beautiful Lake Moraine. Grace, our driver, was absolutely fantastic – warm, friendly, and full of great tips and interesting information. Upon arrival at the lake, we were greeted with hot drinks and cozy blankets. There was plenty of time to find the perfect spot on the Rockpile for the sunrise, with Grace offering insider advice on the best vantage points. We then continued to stunning Lake Louise, where we had ample time to soak in the views and enjoy a leisurely walk around the lake. An unforgettable experience from start to finish! 10/10.

We did the sunrise tour with extended stay at Lake Louise. Everything was super well organized. Sure, it costs more than the Parks Canada shuttle, but you don’t have to worry about a thing – totally worth it. You get plenty of time at Moraine Lake to catch the sunrise, and the blankets and hot drinks are great for the cold. With the extended tour, we had more than enough time to do the Beehive hike. We'd book with Via Via again in a heartbeat – everything went smoothly and everyone was really friendly.

Via Via Moraine is a great shuttle service to both Moraine and Lake Louise and beyond. Comfortable, efficient, friendly and lots of tips on where to go and what to see. We had plenty of time to hike around Moraine lake on an amazing sunny day. Definitely the best stress free way to visit special places in and around the Banff area. We recently did the Moraine Lake and Lake Louise shuttle from Canmore, and it was great. Léo was our driver, and he was awesome. I was sitting in the first row so I got to chat with him a bit, he gave me some cool facts about the mountains and areas along the drives, and gave us some tips of things we could do on other days of our vacation to Banff National Park. When we arrived at each destination Léo would tell the full group from the van about the various things to do/see at each stop so we didn't feel lost when arriving. Léo was also mindful of bumps and things along the mountain roads, and I noticed he was good at following all the rules during the entry process to the restricted areas (like where to stop, waiting for gates to fully open or close, etc). I noticed many other tour vansbuses didn't do that, and while that doesn't have any impact on the trip itself, it did provide some comfort in trusting Leo and his driving.

My sister and I were unable to book tickets through the parks Canada service during our visit. We were so thankful to be able to see both Moraine and Lake Louise with Via Via! They were excellent! Our driver Kai was informative and kind, plus drove well and was on time. We loved that this tour allowed 2 hours at each lake and you could also extend your time at Lake Louise if you wanted to hike farther. We would highly recommend using this local company!

Pickup at our hotel in Lake Louise was on time for sunrise. Jess was a great guide and made sure we were taken care of. Hot chocolate and blankets were a nice addition, especially when it was 36 degrees F. She checked on us at each location and made sure we had the perfect pictures taken at Moraine Lake and Lake Louise. She answered all our questions and we were able to get a picture of a bear on the side of the road.

What an incredible experience watching the sunrise at Moraine Lake and a stop off at Lake Louise! The Via Via team were all so helpful; from the smooth process of booking on, to our informative guide Peter. The early morning was worth it, and made a little easier thanks to a complimentary coffee! With there being so many options for a Moraine Lake shuttle, I couldn’t recommend Via Via enough.

I had an amazing experience taking the Via Via shuttle to both Moraine Lake and Lake Louise! The service was smooth, punctual, and incredibly convenient. Moraine lake sunrise shuttle was awesome! We had so much fun. It was raining but Carrie had us covered. Hot chocolate, coffee, blankets and umbrellas! She was so nice in telling us where to go and how to get around. Then we went to Lake Louise, and saw people jumping in the water and enjoying the views. We left at 3:30AM from Canmore and got back around 10:00AM.

Via Via is a fantastic tour company - I went on their Emerald Lake Escape: Waterfalls & Canyon Wonders Tour yesterday and had the best time! The locations were stunning and the bus was very comfortable. Our leader Léo was kind, personable, professional and a great driver - I was very happy with the service he and his colleagues provided throughout the day.

WHAT AN EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCE. This was my first time in BANFF and I was at a lost with how to get around to see all the big lakes. Last minute, I decided to go with Via Via because of how highly recommended they were by locals. This ended up being the best decision of the trip because our driver/guide, Nathan, was phenomenal. Not only was he on-time and professional, but you can tell how passionate he is about his job and Via Via's mission to make tourism more accessible. Nate kept my friend and I laughing and entertained throughout the hour ride to the lakes with stories of life, bears and fun facts about the area. We learned so much from him and he made our experience so much more enjoyable. I would 100% book with him again when I'm in BANFF!
