Moraine Lake is NOT accessible with personal vehicles
The access road to Moraine Lake has been closed to personal vehicles since last summer. The only way to access Moraine Lake now is through shuttle services.
Most other operators pickup in Lake Louise - you'll have to get yourself there
While there are a lot of bus & shuttle operators to Moraine Lake, most of them only depart in Lake Louise which causes a large amount of personal vehicles in the town of Lake Louise, as well as parking shortages.

Finding parking in Lake Louise is extremely challenging
With Moraine Lake’s road closure, its increasing popularity, and most operators only departing in Lake Louise, finding parking in Lake Louise has become extremely challenging and the cost of parking increased with 75% this year. (Nearly $40 – not including a National Park entrance fee)
In 2023, an average of 1,200 vehicles per day parked at the Lake Louise lakeshore, and between 3,000 and 5,000 vehicles per day were turned away because the parking lot was at capacity.

There will be extra traffic due to Lake Louise road construction
This summer, Parks Canada will be undertaking necessary road constructions on Lake Louise Drive, the access road to both Lake Louise & Moraine Lake. With the usual summer traffic and anticipated delays from construction, leaving your car at the hotel or campsite is a smart move.
Avoid the roadwork headaches, relax on our comfortable shuttles, and arrive at your destination stress-free.
